Answer: (Ref:0011) Hot pan on oak table reply You need to remove the black scorch mark, then re-colour the wood if it's stained. Try sanding the area very lightly with a very fine sandpaper. You can purchase a crayon-like colouring stick from some furniture stores. Sand an inconspicuous area first and try shoe nugget or coloured wax to put back the wood colour before trying it on the table top. Another tip is cigarette ash rubbed on with a soft cloth in a circular motion. I've never tried that one myself, but it's an old "Wives Tale" remedy. Answer: pps files are presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint and you need to have the program loaded on to your computer, either that or a "viewer program" which works with pps documents -- Davina M
Question: Household Flies. Hi, I seem to have an "overabundance" of the pesky household fly both outside and inside my home. Of course, the fly swatter works when I can get them, but I believe I read somewhere that I can sit a bowl of water with dish liquid (or something) mixed in the water, and it will attract the flies and they will drown. Question: Towels. Can anyone please tell me of some good brand name towels to buy that don't "PILL" I have bought expensive towels and cheaper towels, but no matter what I buy, as soon as they are washed they shed hundreds of pills. I have washed some of them 5 or 6 times and each time there are lots of pills left on the towels. I have also bought different varieties from combed cotton to Egyptian cotton but to no avail. Question: Noisy toilet about 1 second after flushing the toilet, it makes a screeching sound that lasts about 1/2 a second. It started this after we were gone for 2 weeks. Question: Static Cling Help. I have 4 pair of microfiber slacks. When I wear them they cling terribly, twisting around my leg. I've tried drying them with bounce sheets, lotion on my legs before putting them on, static guard sprayed and sprayed to no avail, rubbing bounce dryer sheets on my panty hose, none of which help. Answer: Ants For ants, draw a line of boric acid (powder, its non-poisonous) or Ajax or Comet, (and I'm willing to bet on baby powder too) around wherever you want to keep the ants out of or away from. I believe that the ants suffocate in the powder. Could be that boric acid, etc. is poisonous to ants, however that's what you wash kittens eyes out with when they are first opening their eyes. Answer: Household Ants-. Hi, I had this problem and actually signed a contract with a local chemical free company that would exterminate every 2 months. One day when I was asking about our ant problem and what to do if they came back, the tech gave away their secret…ORANGE CLEANER, any brand will do, it is like a nerve gas, at first they will keep going about their business, and then shaking, and finally croak. Its great because the odor and fumes are not offensive, and it works. Try to follow the “path” that they are taking and coat it. especially if you find the point of entry.
